What we collect, and what we do with it.
Written to be read rather than to be survived. If anything here is unclear, write to us and we will answer plainly.
What we collect
We collect only what you send us. Our contact form asks for your name, your company, your email address, and a short description of the work you want to pursue. Our client questionnaire asks for more, because a fee quote requires it: your legal business name, location, NAICS codes, UEI and CAGE code, SAM registration status, SBA certifications, approximate annual revenue, employee count, how many contracts and subcontracts you administer, and what support you are looking for.
Every field is optional except your business name and your email address. Leave anything blank that you would rather not share, and we will ask about it only if it affects the quote.
What we do not collect
This website sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no session recording. We do not know who visits, how often, or what they read.
Our typefaces are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google and Google can see the internet address that made the request. That is the only third party this site contacts while you read it.
Please do not send us controlled information
Do not send us anything marked CUI, FOUO, or Controlled, and do not paste solicitations, deliverables, drawings, or correspondence carrying those markings. We do not accept client controlled unclassified information into our systems and we do not need it to price your work. Solicitation numbers and public award information are enough.
Where it goes
Form submissions pass through FormSubmit, a third-party service that relays the message to our business mailbox. From there your information is held in our Microsoft 365 tenant, in the United States, under the same access controls as our client files.
Who sees it
We do. We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with anyone for their own purposes. We share it with a service provider only where that provider operates our own systems, such as our email and document storage, and only to the extent the provider needs it to run that service.
If a law or a lawful demand requires disclosure, we will comply, and we will tell you unless we are prohibited from doing so.
Opportunity alerts
If you check the box asking for opportunity alerts, we use your NAICS codes, set-aside categories, and geography to send you matching solicitations on the schedule you choose. We send nothing else to that list. Reply with the word stop and it ends that day, and we will not ask you why.
How long we keep it
If you ask for a quote and do not become a client, we keep your questionnaire for twelve months and then delete it. If you become a client, we keep your records for the life of the engagement and for six years after it ends, which matches the records retention periods federal contractors are held to. Alert subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
What you can ask us to do
Write to info@setasideconsulting.com and ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will do it within thirty days and we will not charge you.
Changes
If we change this notice we will change the date below. We will not apply a change retroactively to information you have already sent us.
